One of the largest organizations representing those in the Agricultural Sector, the FFA (formerly known as Future Farmers of America) is huge source of scholarships with millions to give away to the right people.
While the FFA is a membership organization, you don’t have to be a member to apply. They have applications for non-members for scholarships sponsored by groups such as America’s Farmers Grow Ag Leaders, and other agricultural companies. The scholarships they offer are not limited to just those entering farming, but commodities management, animal husbandry, hog confinement, and other fields. So its time to get in on the scholarships application period which ends February 1, 2014.
A few quick tips:
Apply Early – The scholarship has multiple parts and requires all elements to be complete. You should start ASAP if you are going to take part.
Be thorough – Prior years winners stress the importance of a solid essay on your “Goals” part and the need to make sure your career fit the criteria.
Contact your Advisor Now – It’s key to talk to your advisor as they will be critical in recommending you for the award.
